Real Energy Estate 2025 - strong premiere in Cologne

With Real Energy Estate 2025, the format celebrated a strong start in Cologne and brought together around 130 decision-makers from the energy, construction and real estate industries for a top-class exchange.

With Real Energy Estate 2025, the format celebrated a strong start in Cologne and brought together over 100 decision-makers from the energy, construction and real estate industries for a top-class exchange.

For the first time, we organized the Real Energy Estate together with RheinEnergie and Realyze Ventures. Our goal: to find a feasible path to climate neutrality in combination with innovation and efficiency. In other words, to cut emissions, reduce operating costs and enable scaling.

This is because the building sector is under pressure: CO₂ reduction, operational efficiency and digitalization in operations. Real Energy Estate addressed precisely the companies at these interfaces. In addition to impulses with different perspectives, the program left room for intensive exchange and networking.

Panels and practical examples showed how digitalization, smart infrastructure and cross-industry collaboration are accelerating decarbonization - and how we can rethink the planning, construction and operation of buildings and cities.

The participants were enthusiastic about the new format and the opportunity to exchange ideas. Our joint idea and the concept were a complete success. The event really struck a chord with the topic of energy," said ROCKETHOME Managing Director Yüksel Sirmasac.

What we took with us

  • Partnerships count: Cooperation is key to practical relevance and speed of implementation.
  • From a focus on efficiency to a focus on emissions: the decisive factor is measurable CO₂ reduction in operation, not just standards on paper.
  • Bringing data into operation: HEMS/smart building pays off when regulations, tariffs and user profiles converge.
  • Scaling beats individual solutions: Open, integrated systems accelerate the path from pilot to surface.

A big thank you to the speakers:

  • Prof. Dr. Alexander v. Erdély (Spokesman of the Executive Board of the Federal Institute for Real Estate, BImA), who reported on the transformation of the German building stock.
  • Steffen Szeidl (CEO, Drees & Sommer), who spoke about the future of construction.
  • Aygül Özkan (CEO, ZIA), Frank Christian Hinrichs (CEO, inno2grid GmbH) and Dr. Markus Wiedenmann (CEO, Art-Invest Real Estate), who discussed the advantages and disadvantages of emissions and energy efficiency.
  • Norbert Rolf (CEO, Brunata Metrona), Tobias Wolfrum (CEO, Jena Wohnen), Anett Barsch (Board Member, GAG) and Matthias Kramer (Managing Director, termios), who presented new ideas on the subject of heat.
  • Dr. Lis Hannemann-Strenger (CEO, Strenger), Johannes Fütterer (CEO, aedifion), Benjamin Wardemann (CEO, Metropol Immobiliengruppe) and Carina Diviccaro (ROCKETHOME GmbH), who provided practical insights into digital real estate.
  • And also to Michaela Föller (Head of Sustainability Consulting, Goldbeck), who spoke on the topic of transparency in transformation processes.

Many thanks also to all participants who made Real Energy Estate a successful start! We are already looking forward to the next steps together.
